Global rating agency Fitch upgraded Turkey's credit rate by two notches to 'BB' (+). The agency also upgraded Turkey's long-term foreign currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to 'BB+' from 'BB' and Turkey's country ceiling grade from BB to BBB(-). |

Özyeğin University will give entrepreneurship training for 350 women for three years. The training will be free of charge. Applications to the program will be received until the end of January 2010.
Within the scope of global financial services company Goldman Sachs' "10,000 Women Entrepreneurs Certificate Program", Özyeğin University will give entrepreneurship training for 350 women for 3 years. Women entrepreneurs to participate in the program which will provide a total of 150 hours training within a year will be chosen according to international criteria developed for the program and they will benefit from the program free of charge. The training syllabus comprise business plan development, basic entrepreneurship skills, accounting and finance, access to financial resources, sales and marketing, production planning, organizational planning. Applications to the program will be received from November 2009 through end of January 2010. |

European Union (EU) Commission's autumn economic forecast report foresees that Turkey will be the fastest growing country in 2010 with a 2.8% growth rate.
In EU Commission's previous report issued six months ago, 2010 growth forecast for Turkey was 2.2%. Expecting an economic constriction of 5.8 % for Turkey this year, EU Commission declared that they foresee an economic growth of 3.6% in 2011. |

Since the beginning of operations abroad in the 1970s mainly in Libya and several Middle Eastern countries, Turkish construction sector has retained an upward trend. Although last year's target of $25 billion was challenged by the economic crisis, the aim to reach this target persists this year. Turkish Contractors Association Chairman Erdal Eren pointed out that they started out this year's overseas construction services with 2008 target figures and said: "Due to economic crisis, this year's target is the same with last year's. We expect to exceed this target." |
