General Manager of Peugeot Turkey, Jean Pierre Vieux, reviewed 2009 with an interesting analogy.
Vieux, stated in the interview published in the monthly magazine of Peugeot, @mag: "We have become tired, we have had stress, maybe our hair has turned gray; but this is not an issue. We raised our sales and increased the market volume. We became an actual Turkish company." The general manager while stating that they had strong inventory at the beginning of 2009, however, they were out of cars in 15 days after the reduction in the special consumption tax. Vieux, then expressed that they acted quickly and raised the production in Turkey and worked for importing automobiles.
Thus while targeting sales for 50-55 thousand automobiles, they reached 89 thousand. The company completed the year on the sixth rank in the overall market, and on the third rank among the light commercial vehicles. Jean Pierre Vieux continued: "This is Turkey. You can never guess. It is necessary to react quickly, to be flexible and to know how to overcome crises. It is not necessary to be through with the business just because the world turned black. Because Turkey can immediately gather itself together. If you try to stop, it is more difficult for you to act again." On expectations about 2010, General Manager of Peugeot Turkey pointed at the significance of having a medium term vision and stated: "When I sell a car, the person who has bought the car should also be satisfied. This person will come back to see me for service or to buy new accessories. Thus you should consider not only selling the car, but also this relationship during the life of the automobile. When the conditions become harder, if you think "I should not sell anymore, I make a loss", then you mortgage your future." Source: www.haberturk.com |
