According to the study published by Deloitte, "2009 Global Powers of the Consumer Products Industry", Arçelik, Vestel and Goldaş are identified among 250 largest consumer products companies.
In the report that evaluates the performance of the largest 250 consumer products manufacturers based on data for the companies' fiscal year 2007, the changing priorities of companies are emphasized. In the report, it is stated that the companies in the industry have changed primarily due to global crisis, the most prominent changes including effective cost controls, attention paid to cash flow and meeting the consumers' expectations. According to the study, total sales for the Top 250 consumer products companies reached nearly $ 3 trillion in 2007, up from US$ 2.67 trillion for 2006's Top 250. For 2007's Top 250 companies, year-over-year composite growth was 10.6 percent. Goldaş is in the List for the First Time In Top 250, every one out of three companies reached two-digit growth in 2007. Average endorsement of Top 250 reached 12 billion dollars; and average amount of sales is recorded as 2.74 billion dollars. Arçelik is 134th in the international rankings with 5.109 million dollars of net sales while Vestel is ranked 194th with 3.570 million dollars of net endorsement. Goldaş Kuyumculuk, which entered the list for the first time ranked 200th in the list and reported 3.463 million dollars of net sales. Arçelik ranked 7th in "Top 10 Home Furnishing and Equipment Companies" list; and Goldaş became 8th fastest growing company in "Top 10 Fastest Growing Consumer Product Companies" list. Samsung, Hewlett Packard and Nestle were the top three of the list. Expressing his pride in seeing that Turkish companies are ranked in world consumer products industry, Uğur Süel, partner at Deloitte Consulting- Turkey said in his statement regarding the report: "We find it a very significant development that two very important consumer electronics and equipment manufacturers, , Arçelik and Vestel, are ranked in top five in our region. |
