The owners of Eurobank Awards of Excellence,  who have been a great wonder in world banking environment and which are perceived as the highest-ranking awards in banking sector are announced.

 The most Prestigious Award

Akbank is defined as Turkey's best bank and received the award. "Awards of Excellence" Ceremony is held in London and hosted the highest-ranking executives from all corners of the world. Akbank Director General Ziya Akkurt, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Communication , Burak Tansan and Murat Göllü, Head of Corporate Communication received the award in the ceremony in London.

In his speech in the ceremony, Ziya Akkurt said, "Akbank received this award for its customer orientation, wide-spread branch network, modern risk management and high level banking service it's giving without any concessions.  Akbank proved its strength once more by adding Eurobank's   "Best Bank in Turkey" award, which is given after a scrupulous judgment, to its former successes. We continue to make customer needs oriented investments and support Turkish economy without giving any concessions from our active quality, financial performance and effective risk management.  Akbank pursued a clear and consistent strategy during the global crisis and focused on creating sustainable values for our country. This award objectively proved the accuracy of the bank's strategy. I extend my thanks to our employees, customers and shareholders for their great contribution to Akbank's success".

Strong financial structure has been efficient

In Eurobank's statement  regarding the award, it is said that along with Akbank's strong capital adequacy ratio, widespread deposit base and branch network;  the bank's tracked loan rate's being  below the sector ratio, that a cash cover is reserved for those loans; and the bank's successful management played an efficient role in Akbank's receiving the award
