1 million people will have a job! E-mail
ImageAfter the record high increase in unemployment rates in February and March, the firms have declared one after another that they will recruit new staff. Along with many different sectors including automotive, furnishing, retail and finance industries the government has declared that 863 thousand people will be recruited. It is expected that this number will reach 1 million by the end of the year.

Government will recruit 570 thousand employees

The cabinet continues to work on a private employment package that will enable recruitment of 500 thousand people on minimum wage in public beneficial jobs. According to the package prepared by Ministry of Labor, the recruited personnel will work in jobs like maintenance and repair of schools, and cleaning up of motorway sideways. The government declared that a total of 70 thousand civil servants will be employed 35-40 thousand of which being teachers, 15 thousand police officers and 7-8 thousand university lecturer and research assistants.

The municipality is getting ready too

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality: Made an agreement with 250 thousand tulip planters for 2010 Capital of Culture.

Bayrampaşa Municipality: Aiming to employ 3 thousand unemployed people who are 16-35 years old and at least secondary school graduate for Europe's biggest shopping center; Forum Istanbul Shopping Center which is expected to be opened by the end of the year.

85% of Child Insurance is Fake

Inspection over families who have insured children of all ages so that they could retire at an early age continues.  Auditors and inspecting officers of Social Security Institution are controlling whether the insured under the age of 18 have actively worked or not.

Half of the inspections are completed

According to February and March data, currently inspection demands have been made for 106 thousand 962 people under age of 18. Nearly half of that number is inspected.

Legal action initiated

The inspections revealed that 40 thousand 708 child have not actually worked and 4 thousand 816 have worked. It is decided that inspections on 2 thousand 83 child's insurance will continue.  The inspections that have been made up to now revealed that 85% of insured children have not actually worked. Upon that detection, necessary procedure is carried for cancellation of their insurance.

 

Private Sector is not seriously affected by the crisis

Boydak Holding: 500 employees will be recruited for three different plantations in Kayseri , Adapazarı and Bursa.

CarrefourSA: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sabanci Holding Güler Sabancı, has declared that CarrefourSA will recruit 2 thousand 500 people until the end of the year.

TeknoSA: Director General of TeknoSA Mahmet Nane said that they will create employment for 1000 people this year.

Tosyalı Holding:  Aiming at increasing its employment in iron and steel sector from 1000 to 2000 in 2009.

Flatofis Çarşı (AVM): 2000 people will be employed in shopping department of Flatofis, which was constructed by Sinpaş Yapı.

Gates: Gates will manufacture cylinder liners and pistons in its facility in İzmir and will create employment for 500 people.

Kapadokya Tekstil:  Turkey- Netherlands partnered Kapadokya Tekstil will increase its employment from 250 to 1000 with the new investments.

Eldor:  Italian firm Eldor which is manufacturing automotive wiring systems is establishing an equipment poll. 500 new employees will be recruited.  

Baykal Mobilya: Baykal Mobilya will increase its investments and will recruit 250 new employees until 2010.

Oschatz: In the joint declaration by Prime Ministry Investment Agency and Environment Protection Facilities, it is stated that a new investment in Kocaeli Free Trade Zone that amounts to 30 million dollars will create employment for 450 people until the end of the year.

Dörtyol-Atakaş Şirketler Grubu:  The Group started construction of a facility with its Russian partner which is expected to be completed in 2010. The facility will create employment for more that 2000 people.  

Carl Kittel Automotive Sanayi: German Carl Kittel Automotive manufacturing firm which will manufacture pressed aluminum and ejection parts will employ 550 people in the facility it will construct in Kütahya.

Millenicom Türkiye:  Millenicom Türkiye, operating in telecommunication sector will create job opportunities for 450 people on country-wide.

Zorlu Holding: Will create 3000 employment until the end of 2010.

HP:  Will recruit 2000 new employees until the end of 2010 for its investment in Turkey.

Jolly Tour: Will create employment for 800 people.

Migros: Will recruit 12 thousand more people at the end of 2009.

Gezer Ayakkabı:  Will create employment for 750 people.

Turkcell: Will employ 1000 people for call centers.

Sönmez Holding: Will employ 1000 people.

Ağaoğlu: Will create employment for 2 thousand 500 people.

CRH: German automotive seating giant CRH will create employment for 400 people.

Banks:

Ziraat Bankası: Will employ 2000 people

İş Bankası: Will open 80 branch banks. Number of the personnel that will be recruited is not determined.

Garanti Bankası: Will employ 300- 400 people

Finasbank: Will employ 650-700 people

Denizbank:  Will recruit 474 people
